Hi, I’d like to introduce everyone to Luckie, he has FeLV. I got him when he was 3 years old. He came to me very sick, sneezing blood, dirty, smelly and very congested with a leaky eye! We had so many issues to overcome. We kept a humidifier on and also gave him medication for his URI and leaky eye. We did not know if he was going to get better. But, with all our effort and love, he has become the healthiest cat ever!
I’ve learned A LOT after adopting a FeLV+ cat. At the beginning, you may feel defeated trying to boost their immune system. You may feel like you’re doing everything but they aren’t getting better. I promise, they will get better. They just need extra time.

A few things I’ve done to keep Luckie the healthiest he can be is changing his diet. He only eats wet food, after doing lots of researched I learned in any cat is it best to do wet food only if you can! We are very grateful that we are able to provide him this. Something else you can do is add supplements! Specifically ones that keep their immune system boosted. Keeping their stress levels down and if you think something is off, don’t wait to take them to the vet! And most importantly, keeping them inside.
